This bright and quirky piece of translucent fused glass art would look incredible on a windowsill with the sunlight shining behind, or on a shelf or table with a tealight behind to make the colours sparkle through. Bright rainbow shades with individual windows makes these seven houses amazingly tactile.
Measuring about 18cm long and 7cm tall, this versatile piece is a semicircle shape, which is securely freestanding on a level surface. It would be the perfect gift for someone who loves the city - maybe they visited on holiday, studied here, or live here still! It could be a housewarming gift for someone moving to Bristol or moving away, an engagement or wedding gift for a couple who spent (or plan to spend) time in Bristol together, or a thoughtful Father's Day gift for a dad who loves Bristol!
It is freestanding so could be positioned on a windowsill, a shelf or a room divider. It will fit in a wide range of homes, looking equally stunning in a contemporary modern home with its shine and colour palette as it would in a casual beach hut style family living room.
Created by layering individually handcut pieces of different shades of glass, with tiny clear windows and a mix of painted styles, this piece has spent many hours in my digitally controlled kiln ensuring it has been properly annealed, and so it is robust and durable, to be handed down to future generations to enjoy.
If you like the look of this, but want the houses to be shades of green, or neutral, or a random mix of colours (or maybe you'd like red houses to fit with the colour scheme in a specific room) then us know on checkout.
