Eclectic Gift Shop stars in VISA advert

Around Halloween time, some of you were wondering what was going on when a camera crew from London visited Eclectic Gift Shop...

Today I can finally reveal that Saatchi and Saatchi approached me to film a commercial as part of VISA's #WhereYouShopMatters campaign; encouraging people to support small businesses within their local communities.
I first received a phone call in the summer to ask if I would like to be part of the campaign after their team of researchers selected the shop.

The crew, a team of 5, set up the camera, lights and mics throughout the shop and spent two and a half hours filming all of the wonderful gifts and cards and interviewed me about running an independent shop on a High Street. It was a completely new experience for me and lot of fun!

Here's the result which was aired on TV on demand including SKY, ITV Player, 4 on Demand and across VISA's social media channels:

The role of 'customers' was played by real life customers within the shop; Kathy and her grandchildren, Tamsin and Leo. Kathy said that Tamsin and Leo were "fascinated by all the equipment and the whole experience."
